School Supplies - Project 2
In this project, we donated supplies to the Sulthanagoda Maha Vidyalaya in Suthanagoda, Sri Lanka.
The School
The school is the Sulthanagoda Maha Vidyalaya in Sulthanagoda, Sri Lanka. Sulthanagoda is a village of about 5000 people.

The students
A picture of the students is to your right. This is very typical of a school in rural sri lanka. Even though the school has very few resources, the students are always neatly dressed, reflecting the priority that the parents and the school places on the students' education and overall wellbeing.

Following up with each school after the donations helps us better understand the impact and improve our processes in the future.
Preparing the Supplies
We save costs by ordering the supplies in bulk at discount from local shops. In this project, we received quotes from several suppliers for each item (books, pencils, pens, erasers). Each item was ordered separately in bulk for cost efficiency, and then hand assembled to individual packets for each student.
